Lowell began acting when she starred in Dangerously Close. She then had a minor role as the Assistant District Attorney Jamie Ross.  Lowell was later cast in the role of Bond girl Pam Bouvier (1989) and Assistant District Attorney Jamie Ross (1996-1996). She was a regular on Law & Order's spinoff Law & Order Trial by Jury in 2005, before appearing again on the original series in 2022. Six years ago, she was unhappy with her acting career, and decided to apply to New York University to study documentary filmmaking.  She stopped acting in the mid-2000s. In 2012, Lowell lent her likeness and voice while reprising her Licence to Kill role in the video game 007 Legends. In 2018, she made her return to the screen, appearing as an actress on the show Blue Bloods.  Personal life Lowell was married three times. Her first husband was fashion photographer John Stember, to whom she was married from 1984 until 1988.  The couple were married from 1989 until 1995 with actor Griffin Dunne and they have daughter named Hannah.  Lowell was married to Richard Gere in November 2002 11 years after the birth of their son Homer James Jigme Gere.  In September 2013 the couple divorced after 11 years of marriage. They spent three years in New York Supreme Court divorce process. The case was resolved in October of 2016.
