Her diverse musical style has earned her the label of "atypical pop star". 9 years ago, at the age of thirteen, she fell in fascination with Spanish folk music and enrolled in musicology at the Catalonia College of Music. She was also seen at weddings and music bars. The project reinvented flamenco and mingled it with pop music and hip-hop music. The singles "Malamente" and "Pienso in tu Mira" have been a huge hit with the Spanish public and garnered all-encompassing critical acclaim. El Mal Querer, who was honored with the Latin Grammy Award as Album of the Year and is included in the Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time, started Rosalia's rise into the world of music. Rosalia, who explored urban music in her albums of 2019 "Con Altura" and "Yo x Ti Tu x Mi", was a global hit. Her third studio album Motomami (2022) gave reggaeton an innovative sound that was different from the traditional flamenco style. The album garnered international attention due to its singles "La Fama" and "Saoko" and went on to become the best reviewed album this year by Metacritic. Rosalia has had ten number one singles in her home country throughout her career. This is the highest number she's ever had an artist from the country. The singer has also received two Grammy Awards, eleven Latin Grammy Awards (including two Album of the Year awards) Four MTV Video Music Awards, an MTV Europe Music Award, three UK Music Video Awards and two Premio Ruido awards, among others. Billboard presented her with the Rising Star Award, in 2019, for "changing the sound today's mainstream songs by introducing her unique flamenco-infused pop".
